20. Terrell McIntyre – Clemson Tigers (1996-1999)

Career stats: 14.6 ppg 2.7 rpg 4.6 apg

His big senior season was under a different coach, but the 5’9 guard still had a great first three seasons under Barnes, averaging in double figures while still ranking near the top of the ACC in assists. He made the Big Dance all three years with Barnes as the head coach.

19. Marques Bragg – Providence Friars (1989-1992)

Career stats: 8.8 ppg 6.3 rpg 0.9 apg

He had a great guard to play with (more on him later), but Bragg was responsible for handling things down low in the paint, grabbing at least 8.0 rpg in his final two seasons. If he wasn’t such a poor free throw shooter, his offensive numbers would’ve been even better.

18. Admiral Schofield – Tennessee Volunteers (2016-)

Career stats: 10.1 ppg 5.0 rpg 1.1 apg

After reclaiming his starting spot and given extended minutes, Schofield rewarded Barnes with 13.9 ppg and 6.4 this past season, helping the Vols win the SEC. If he comes back and has a monster season, he could climb the ladder on this list.

17. Kevin Punter – Tennessee Volunteers (2015-2016)

Career stats: 15.6 ppg 2.7 rpg 2.6 apg

When Barnes arrived in Knoxville, he didn’t have too much talent to work with, which is why they finished under .500 in the first season together. There was senior guard Kevin Punter, who singlehandedly won the team some games. He had 27 points in the upset win against Kentucky, as well as a career-high 36 to beat South Carolina. Punter finished his final year with the program with 22.2 ppg and an All-SEC spot.
