16. Grant Williams – Tennessee Volunteers (2017-)

Career stats: 13.9 ppg 6.0 rpg 1.5 apg

After a very solid freshman campaign, Williams took his game to another level this past season, helping Tennessee get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a few years while winning the SEC Player of the Year Award.

His ranking may seem high considering that he’s still playing, but the play of Williams is very important for Barnes to have success in the SEC, a league that could be going through a golden era.

15. Jordan Hamilton – Texas Longhorns (2010-2011)

Career stats: 14.5 ppg 5.7 rpg 1.8 apg

He was around for just a couple of seasons, but Hamilton made a big impression in 2011 carrying the Longhorns to 28 wins. The sophomore led the team with 18.6 ppg and 7.7 rpg. He scored at least 12 points in all but one game, getting awarded with First-Team All-Big 12 while getting All-American mentions as well.

14. Marty Conlon – Providence Friars (1987-1990)

Career stats: 11.0 ppg 5.7 rpg 1.6 apg

When Barnes arrived at Providence in 1989, he had the 6’10 forward Conlon to work with. The coach’s presence did wonders for the player’s career as well, as he had his best seasons under him. As an upperclassman, Conlon averaged 14.5 ppg and 7.3 rpg, helping get Barnes to his first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.

13. Greg Buckner – Clemson Tigers (1995-1998)

Career stats: 14.4 ppg 4.9 rpg 2.1 apg

Not only was Buckner a four-year starter with multiple trips to the NCAA Tournament, he also has the feat of leading the Tigers in scoring in all four seasons as well. He and McIntyre formed an outstanding backcourt that caused all kinds of problems in the ACC.
