SG Romeo Langford, Indiana

We’ve all heard plenty about Romeo Langford already this offseason. One of the top recruits in the land, Langford committed to Indiana rather late for the 2018 class and made a major splash staying with the in-state program. He is already one of the most beloved athletes in the state and hasn’t even played a game in a Hoosier uniform yet. There is possibly more hype surrounding this 6’5″ guard than any other player in the country. Yes, that includes Zion Williamson.

Overall, he ranks No. 6 in the country for the class and did just about everything for New Albany High School this past season. He is an elite scorer who can put on a show with the ball in his hands. IU head coach Archie Miller obviously snagged a dandy in Langford but let’s not set the expectations too high yet. Langford will be one of the best players in the country but the Hoosiers still have work to do if they want to reach the NCAA Tournament.

The return of leading scorer Juwan Morgan certainly helps but this team finished just one game over .500 for the season last year. That will need to be remedied in a hurry because the Hoosiers will have a tough non-conference schedule to deal with. The entire slate is yet to be released but matchups against Marquette, Louisville, and Butler will all be handfuls for IU. Those three games will be huge litmus tests for how good the Hoosiers might be in 2018-19.
