ACC Basketball: 5 impact freshmen to keep an eye on in 2018-19
1. R.J. Barrett, Duke
The Duke Blue Devils have another strong crop of freshman on deck for the 2018-19 season and Canadia native R.J. Barrett might just take the cake. Barrett led Montverde Academy (FL) to a 35-0 record and was named USA Today Player of the Year, Morgan Wootten Player of the Year, Naismith Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year.

He averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season at Montverde. The 6-foot-7 shooting guard is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in 2018 recruiting class by most media outlets. In the Nike Hoop Summit, he led the World Team to an 89-76 victory with 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals.
In his final high school game, he dropped 47 points in the Canadian All-Star game back on April 24. Barrett is a player who can score on all three levels for the Blue Devils next season.

Add Zion Williamson and Cam Reddish to the mix and the expectations should be high for this group of freshman. Duke could see another player sweep the ACC basketball awards once again if things go right.
