6. Sheldon McClellan – Miami Hurricanes (2012-2016)

Career stats: 13.9 ppg 3.8 rpg 1.3 apg

After two solid years at Kansas State, McClellan transferred over to Miami. His arrival was very important, as the program was rebuilding after losing so many good players from before. He led the Hurricanes in scoring both seasons he was there, averaging 16.3 ppg on that Sweet Sixteen team in 2016. While McClellan may not be the most talented player on this list, he was very important in keeping the program viable on a yearly basis under Larranaga.

5. Cameron Long – George Mason Patriots (2008-2011)

Career stats: 10.7 ppg 3.9 rpg 2.7 apg

After a few good seasons as a starter for the team, Long had a breakout senior season. He averaged 15.1 ppg and 4.7 rpg, while shooting 43% from three-point range. Long was the leader of that 27-win Patriots team, which happened to be the final year of Larranaga as a coach.

4. Shane Kline-Ruminski – Bowling Green State Falcons (1993-1995)

Career stats: 15.5 ppg 6.3 rpg 2.0 apg

A member of the school’s basketball Hall of Fame, Kline-Ruminski is one of the best pure big men that Larranaga ever had. He averaged over 17 ppg in his final two seasons, ranking first in the country in field goal percentage at 68%.
