6. Aaron Gray – Pittsburgh Panthers (2004-2007)

Career stats: 9.8 ppg 7.0 rpg 1.3 apg

After two years with minimal playing time, Gray excelled as an upperclassman starter. He averaged 13.9 ppg and 10.0 rpg in his final two seasons, as well as leading the Big East in total rebounds. At a rare time where Pitt was lacking some size, the 7’0 center filled in quite well.

5. DeJuan Blair – Pittsburgh Panthers (2008-2009)

Career stats: 13.6 ppg 10.7 rpg 1.1 apg

One of the highest rated players to play for Dixon, the local product lived up to expectations in his two seasons. Blair averaged 15.7 ppg and 12.3 rpg in route to winning Big East Player of the Year, as well as All-American accolades. He also was a monster in Pittsburgh’s Elite Eight run in 2009, getting double-doubles in each game. What hurts him is that he was an underclassmen, compared to the usual four-year veterans Dixon has.

4. Kenrich Williams – TCU Horned Frogs (2015-2018)

Career stats: 11.0 ppg 8.6 rpg 2.7 apg

After recovering from a knee injury that cost him the 2016 season, Williams prospered under Dixon. He became just the second TCU player to lead the team three times in rebounding, and despite being just 6’7, was one of the top board grabbers in the Big 12. Along with Dixon’s coaching, Williams was the big reason for the Horned Frogs turnaround. He will be sorely missed in the frontcourt next season.
