10. Romero Osby – Oklahoma Sooners (2009-2013)

Career stats: 9.0 ppg 4.7 rpg 0.8 apg

After two unproductive years at Mississippi State, Osby excelled in Norman, ranking as one of the best rebounders in the Big 12. He averaged 16.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg his senior year to lead the Sooners to a surprising bid.

9. Michael Anderson – Texas-Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros (1985-1986)

Career stats: 12.8 ppg 3.8 rpg 3.9 apg

In Kruger’s final year with the Vaqueros, Anderson had a breakout season, averaging 16.9 ppg and 5.0 rpg. The program was an independent, so the 20-8 record didn’t amount to much. But it did get the attention of Kansas State, who hired him for the following year. If it wasn’t for Anderson, Kruger might not have had this long career.

8. Dametri Hill – Florida Gators (1993-1996)

Career stats: 12.5 ppg 5.3 rpg 0.7 apg

As a sophomore, Hill was another solid post contributor for Florida’s Final Four squad. When those players left, the 6’7 center was the star of the team his senior year, averaging a team-high 17.6 ppg and 7.8 rpg.

7. Wink Adams – UNLV Rebels (2007-2009)

Career stats: 15.0 ppg 4.0 rpg 2.7 apg

During Kruger’s best years at UNLV, Adams was the clear-cut best player, leading the team in scoring all three seasons he was there. The Rebels made it to the Big Dance twice during this run, thanks to the high-volume shooting guard.

6. Stacey Poole – Florida Gators (1991-1993)

Career stats: 15.9 ppg 6.4 rpg 1.5 apg

When Kruger arrived at Florida, the program was in a bit of disarray with sanctions and rebuilding the roster. Poole was one of the newcomers the coach brought in, who became one of the top five scorers in school history when he left. He averaged 17.8 ppg and 7.3 rpg his best year with the Gators, setting up the foundation for the program’s rise from the bottom.
