10. Gary Buchanan – Villanova Wildcats (2000-2003)

Career stats: 14.7 ppg 3.8 rpg 2.6 apg

A solid double-digit scorer for all four seasons, Buchanan led the Wildcats in scoring his final two seasons with the team. His junior year was particularly good, ranking near the top of the Big East in scoring at 17.8 ppg. The lack of NCAA Tournament appearances does hurt him in this matter.

9. Norm Richardson – Hofstra Pride (1998-2001)

Career stats: 13.9 ppg 4.9 rpg 2.1 apg

The 6’5 wing played a huge part in the back-to-back tournament appearances for Hofstra in 2000 and 2001, scoring over 16 ppg both times. Unlike his junior year (more on that later), Richardson was the clear go-to guy his last season in college, winning the America East Player of the Year for the Pride.

8. Ryan Arcidiacono – Villanova Wildcats (2013-2016)

Career stats: 11.1 ppg 2.3 rpg 3.7 apg

A four-year starter and playmaker for Coach Wright, Arcidiacono’s impact was beyond the stat sheet. That’s why he was the winner of the 2015 Big East Player of the Year Award, despite averaging just 10.1 ppg. And while he wasn’t the guy who hit the game-winning shot to beat UNC in the 2016 title game, it was his heads-up pass to create that moment.

7. Curtis Sumpter – Villanova Wildcats (2003-2006)

Career stats: 13.3 ppg 6.4 rpg 0.9 apg

Coach Wright has had the majority of his success with players among the perimeter, but there were a few big men that he was able to develop as well. Sumpter averaged seven rebounds the last three seasons while upping his scoring all the way to 17.4 ppg his senior season.

6. Allan Ray – Villanova Wildcats (2003-2006)

Career stats: 15.6 ppg 3.2 rpg 2.0 apg

Once he became a starter, Ray became one of the best shooters in the Big East. Especially from three-point range, where he shot the long ball over nine times a game. The 6’2 guard led the team in scoring both his sophomore and junior years while scoring 18.5 ppg in 2006.
