CG Joseph Girard, Glen Falls Senior

One of the most exciting scorers in all of high school basketball, Joseph Girard is a name that many should recognize. While playing for Glen Falls Senior in New York this past season, Girard lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 50 points per game (!!!). Yes, you read that correctly. 50. Five. Zero. An unstoppable scoring force in a lower division, Girard quickly received attention from some of the best programs in the nation. Girard is regarded as a three-star recruit and ranked at No. 154 in the nation by 247Sports Composite.

On Feb. 21 of 2018, Girard went on an unofficial visit to Durham and came away with an offer. Since then, he has reportedly received a visit from Coach K on April 17. At 6-foot-1, Girard does not have incredible size to play the shooting guard position. In addition, his high school highlights have to be taken with a grain of salt due to the level of competition that he was facing. Regardless, his 3-point stroke is consistent and he projects well as a 3-point threat at the college level.

Duke is currently the favorite to land a commitment from Girard per 247Sports crystal ball predictions. The Blue Devils hold eight of the 12 predictions that have been made so far. Three of these predictions are listed as “cloudy” while one individual sees Girard heading to Michigan. The Wolverines, as well as the Oklahoma Sooners and the Syracuse Orange, seem to be the major competitors for Duke in this recruitment.

Associate head coach Jon Scheyer has been the lead recruiter for Duke in regards to Girard.
