Chris Clemons – Campbell

The Campbell Fighting Camels out of the Big South conference do not have much in the way of basketball tradition. With the Big South Conference going through some realignment and adding a couple of new teams this year, also while losing the preseason conference favorite Liberty. Campbell looks poised to potentially make the NCAA tournament this year.

The Camels have most of their roster off the fourth-place finish in the Big South last year. Outside of conference champion Radford, not many teams in the Big South can claim the return of most of their team. Campbell received the best news they could have possibly hoped for when superstar Chris Clemons announced that he would be withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to school. Clemons entered the draft without an agent and received the feedback about what he needed to work on during the upcoming season.

Campbell without Clemons would have moved further down in the hierarchy of the Big South. With Clemons returning the Camels are one of the instant favorites in the league which is going to have a drastic split between the good teams and the bad teams. With the league being extremely top-heavy, Campbell’s experience and the ability of Clemons are going to take them a long way.
