NCAA Basketball: In-depth look at Campbell’s high scoring guard Chris Clemons

Expectations for Clemons in 2018-2019 

If Clemons played in a bigger conference where he could get some more exposure, he would most likely be in contention for the National Player of the Year Award. Even with Clemons at Campbell, he is going to be really close to leading the country in scoring, which will get him all kinds of recognition. Campbell looks poised to once again have a high-powered scoring attack led by Clemons.

The Fighting Camels have higher expectations placed on them in the Big South. They are expected to finish near the top of the league, especially with Clemons returning to campus in Buis Creek, North Carolina. The Campbell faithful are excited for the expectations finally placed on the Campbell program.

Having a 4 year run with one of the best scorers in the game, having never made the tournament, would not be ideal for the program. Everyone should want to see Clemons in the tournament, he always shines the brightest against the biggest opponents, and the NCAA tournament is the biggest stage in the sport.

The Big South is most likely never going to get an at large, so hopefully, Campbell can continue to make the deep run in the Big South tournament and this year finally get over the hump. Campbell and Chris Clemons the fans are rooting for you, not only to make the tournament but please keep burning the nets up.
