Penn State

Starting Five: Tim Frazier, Tony Carr, Talor Battle, Geary Claxton, D.J. Newbill

Bench: Joe Crispin, Jarrett Stephens, Jamelle Cornley, Titus Ivory, Gyasi Cline-Heard

MVP: Battle takes the honor after four All-Conference level seasons and leading Penn State to their first NCAA Tournament berth in 10 years in 2011.

Not a deep team, but the starting lineup and even some of the bench puts them a step ahead of the bottom tier teams in the Big Ten.

Purdue

Starting Five: Caleb Swanigan, JaJuan Johnson, Carsen Edwards, Robbie Hummel, E’Twaun Moore

Bench: Chris Kramer, A.J. Hammons, Carl Landry, Willie Deane, Kenneth Lowe, Vincent Edwards, David Teague, Terone Robinson

MVP: Is there a way I can give this to the Johnson/Hummel/Moore trio? It’s a shame they never made a Final Four.

This is a really good team. They are going to be stout defensively. They don’t have quite as much talent as Michigan State or Ohio State, but this team could hang with anyone.
