14. Ole Miss Rebels

Last season was a long one in Oxford and it doesn’t appear that things will be changing anytime soon.

Former Middle Tennessee head coach Kermit Davis has taken over for the departed Andy Kennedy and the cupboard is pretty bare. Guard Terence Davis (13.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg last season) returns after testing the NBA Draft waters this offseason, but outside of him, the Rebels are a team that largely lacks talent.

Davis is a very good coach and knows that Ole Miss is a program that needs to be rebuilt. He turned Middle Tennessee into a mid-major power that won NCAA Tournament games in both 2016 in 2017. The Blue Raiders were even ranked in February this past season before a shocking loss to Southern Miss in their C-USA Tournament opener ended their NCAA Tournament hopes.

I think Davis is the right guy for Ole Miss and he’ll have them competing for tournament bids sooner rather than later. But this is going to be another terrible season for the Rebels.
