Head coach Danny Manning signed a six-year contract extension at the start of last season, but if things go the way they’re expected to in Winston-Salem, he will find himself at the center of plenty of hot seat discussions.

Wake Forest only won four conference games last season and their three leading scorers from that team (Bryant Crawford, Doral Moore, Keyshawn Woods) all decided to turn pro despite all going undrafted. That means bad things are on the horizon for the Demon Deacons.

Brandon Childress (9.1 ppg) returns and five-star forward Jaylen Hoard will be Wake’s stars but there is very little talent around them.

Considering the fact that Wake Forest has been one of the ACC’s worst defensive teams throughout Manning’s tenure, the Demon Deacons are going to have to score a lot to be successful – and they don’t have the talent to do that.
