Keita Bates-Diop, Ohio State

Despite winning the Big Ten Player of the Year award this past season, Keita Bates-Diop didn’t hear his name called until the second round. Bates-Diop was taken 48th by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2018 NBA Draft.

He averaged a career-high 19.8 points along with 8.7 rebounds during his senior year for the Buckeyes. After missing a majority of his junior season due to injury, Bates-Diop worked his way all the back to the court for his senior year.

In his return, the Buckeyes went 25-9 as he led the team in points and rebounds per game. Now, he’ll look to make his next mark with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bates-Diop can shoot the 3-ball or create his own shot off the dribble; it’s almost a pick your poison scenario with him. He’ll need to turn some heads to make the final roster.
