Iowa State Cyclones

Class rankings: 4th in the Big 12, 26th nationally

Commitments: Talen Horton-Tucker (55), Zion Griffin (123), Tyrese Haliburton (170) and George Conditt (326)

Despite finishing at the bottom of the Big 12, there was a lot to like about the Cyclones last season. The top recruit for the team Lindell Wigginton returns for his sophomore season and will be aided by almost a top-25 class for 2018-19.

There were unique circumstances concerning Horton-Tucker‘s recruitment in the state of Illinois but in the end, Iowa State benefitted, getting a talented wing able to impact the team from day one. The wing position was an area of weakness for the team, so both he and Griffin will have a shot at filling that void.

With Nick Weiler-Babb set to graduate and Wigginton possibly going pro after next season, the Cyclones will need to have a facilitator ready to go when the time comes. That’s where Haliburton, a three-star point guard comes in. The Wisconsin native has good size at 6’5 and possesses the ball handling abilities to eventually be a starter for the team.

Conditt is another Chicago-area recruit for Iowa State that shouldn’t be looked over. The three-star forward isn’t highly regarded on the national scene but will be a name to watch in a couple of years.
