ACC Basketball: Top 5 rising sophomores for 2018-19
ACC basketball saw four freshmen taken in this year’s NBA Draft, but the conference still returns a good number of talent in 2018-19.
The talent pool in the ACC basketball conference is still rich despite seeing four freshmen selected in the 2018 NBA Draft. The Virginia Cavaliers return this upcoming season as early favorites to win the ACC title with some of the best rising stars in the conference.
Of course, teams across the ACC are reloading on the transfer and recruiting markets. That doesn’t mean those who remain should be counted out. As players like Bruce Brown III moved on to the next level, the door of opportunity opens for those behind them to take over.
Boston College has the likes of Steffon Mitchell stepping in to replace the loss of Jerome Robinson to the draft. Mitchell is a rising sophomore forward that put up 6.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 blocks per game in 2017-18. He didn’t make the Top 5 but a breakout season in 2018-19 should change all of that.
