ACC Basketball: Top 5 rising sophomores for 2018-19
1. De’Andre Hunter, Virginia
The Virginia Cavaliers are lucky to have De’Andre Hunter back for another year. He was the Cavaliers’ best player off the bench last season and was voted ACC Sixth Man of the Year as well as All-Freshmen Team.
The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 9.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game through 33 appearances for Virginia. He shot 38.2 percent from 3-point land which came in handy down the stretch.
He hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to seal a 67-66 victory over the Louisville Cardinals on the road on March 1. Hunter only made two field goals in the game, but he made his last one count to seal a victory for his team.
