PF Andrew Gordon – Northwest Florida State College (JUCO)

One of the best JUCO transfers in the country, Andrew Gordon will bring a much-need set of skills to West Virginia. With three years of eligibility left as well, there is plenty of time for the 6-foot-10 power forward to develop his game within the West Virginia basketball program. By 247Sports, Gordon is ranked as the No. 5 JUCO transfer nationally. He is a ferocious rebounder and also a tough defender inside, swatting away plenty of shots at the rim.

Gordon is well-known for his defensive ability as well as his athleticism in running the floor. He has excellent speed and quickness for his size, making him a versatile defender if necessary. While he did sit out this past season due to tearing his ACL last June, Gordon should be able to contribute during his time at WVU as at least a defensive weapon for head coach Bob Huggins. In addition, there are not many shot-blockers better to learn from in the country than Sagaba Konate.

Gordon’s coach at Northwest Florida State College, Steve DeMeo, had this to say about his impact on the floor (247Sports):

"“He’s a big, strong, powerful young man who’s athletic as can be. He’s an unselfish teammate and a good person. I think he’s a very, very good prospect, and I think what they’re going to do up there at West Virginia developing him and cultivating him is going to take his game to a different level.”"
