3. Anthony Cowan, Maryland

Bowie, Maryland native Anthony Cowan is prime for a solid junior campaign. Cowan upped the ante once again during his sophomore season with the Maryland Terrapins. The 6-foot-1 guard spent his second season back in the starting lineup, starting in all 32 games for the Terrapins.

He averaged 15.8 points, 5.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in 2017-18, shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from 3-point range. He was a third-team All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten All-Defensive team selection for his play. As a junior, his profile will raise a bit more.

Cowan was fourth in the Big Ten in assists per game and 10th in scoring a season ago. Despite the loss of Kevin Huerter, Cowan should return with more to prove. He led the conference last season in minutes per game (37.0), showing just how serious his conditioning is.
