3. Trey Landers, Dayton

Dayton Flyers guard Trey Landers is another player who had a breakout sophomore year in the Atlantic 10. Landers went from starting zero games in 2016-17 to starting all 29 games in 2017-18.

He averaged 11.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per contest last season while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from 3-point range. His 3-point shot is something that’s been coming along as the seasons have progressed. Landers went 19-of-54 in his sophomore season after attempting just three all season in 2016-17.

He poured in a career-high 26 points against the Fordham Rams back on Feb. 17. Landers went  9-of-13 shooting (69.2 percent) from the field and 3-of-5 (60 percent) from 3-point range in his best game of the season as the Flyers won 80-70. He has a knack for getting to the rim and that skill set should be on full display in 2018-19. Landers is another player to keep an eye on as a rising star in the Atlantic 10.
