2. Eric Williams Jr., Duquesne

The Duquesne Dukes are well on their way to a good season in the Atlantic 10 and it all starts with 6-foot-5 guard Eric Williams Jr.. He was an All-Rookie selection after his play during his freshman season with the Dukes. They’ll need to bounce back from a few transfers, but that just means more for Williams to do.

He put up 14.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game, starting in all but one of his 32 appearances in 2017-18. Williams recorded 11 double-doubles as a freshman, something that should become consistent this upcoming season.

He had a career-high 34 points along with 11 rebounds against George Mason back on Jan. 20. The versatile guard shot 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) and 9-of-15 (60 percent) from 3-point range in the game. He went 39.2 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3-point land for Duquesne last season, numbers he’ll look to improve upon as he goes into his sophomore campaign.
