E.J. Liddell – Belleville, IL

Forward | 6-foot-7 | 220 lbs | No. 47 overall – OFFERED

Now entering the top-50 of this recruiting class, E.J. Liddell brings a versatile skill set to the table. At 6-foot-7, he projects as a wing or power forward at the college level. Yet, at this point in his career, Liddell does not seem to be a threat as a 3-point shooter. Where he excels, though, is on the defensive end of the floor. With long arms and above-average athleticism, Liddell projects a switchable defender who can cover positions 3-through-5. In addition, he already has outstanding timing as a shot-blocker.

Liddell played for Brad Beal Elite on the EYBL circuit this spring and summer. While playing in 15 games, the forward averaged 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. He was also very efficient as a scorer in these games, shooting 57.5% from the floor and 80.6% from the free throw line. Even though he does not spread the floor all that well (2-for-9 from three), his solid shooting from the foul line is encouraging.

Considering his high ranking within the 2019 class, it should come as no surprise to hear that many teams are eager to potentially receive a commitment from Liddell. He is extremely talented, well-built, and has a bright future ahead. At the moment (July 20), Ohio State and Missouri hold one 247Sports crystal ball prediction each.
