NCAA Basketball: Predicting NBA 2K19 ratings for incoming top-10 rookies
PG Collin Sexton, Cleveland Cavaliers
Not many players in college basketball were as exciting as Collin Sexton last season at Alabama. A high-end scorer with insane speed and quickness, watching Sexton was like trying to keep up with a blur. He was the clear-cut star player for the Crimson Tide a year ago and was the most important part of the team’s run to an NCAA Tournament bid. Without the stellar play of Sexton throughout the year, Alabama would not have gone dancing. For the year, the former top-10 high school recruit averaged 19.2 points per game.
As far as 2K goes, all aboard the Collin Sexton Hype Train. Ever since keeping Alabama in a game against Minnesota despite playing 3-on-5 early in the college basketball season, Sexton has been making highlights. A tremendous scorer with creative moves around the basket, he is the future of the Cleveland Cavaliers now that LeBron James is gone.
With the Cavs likely to have one of the worst 2K rosters in the league heading into next year, giving Kevin Love a higher-rated PnR partner could boost the playability of the team. When it comes to Sexton’s 2K strengths, he should have above-average speed with the ball as well as a high driving lay-up rating.
Predicting overall rating: 76 overall.
