11. Wichita State Shockers

Location: Charles Koch Arena (10,506) in Wichita, KS

With one of the top attendance numbers and crazy home record, Wichita State ranks fairly high on this list in terms of top college basketball atmospheres. The program has ranked in the top-50 consistently in attendance despite the fact that the stadium fits only a touch over 10,000 people per game. While reaching capacity in nearly every game, the Shockers have also been remarkably successful in their home building.

Over the past 10 seasons, Wichita State holds the sixth-best home record in the nation at 148-16 (.902). While the run to the Final Four might what has made Wichita State famous as a basketball school, this home record dates back further than that, showing the longevity in recent years of the Shockers’ dominance in the Missouri Valley (now in the AAC).

Nicknamed “The Roundhouse” because of the circular layout of the building, fans show up in large numbers for every single game to create a rocking environment. This home-court advantage is one of the best in the nation and it is a major reason why the Shockers have been so successful in recent years.
