5. Michigan State Spartans

Location: Breslin Center (15,000) in East Lansing, MI

Michigan State is one of the best programs in college basketball. With NCAA Tournament trips in each of the 21 seasons, the Spartans are arguably more consistent than just about anyone else in the country (aside from maybe the teams ahead of them on this list). Head coach Tom Izzo, who has been at the helm of the program for the last 23 seasons, has been tremendously successful over the years and has been considered an elite coach in the month of March, specifically. Well, he is also pretty darn good at home.

When it comes to student sections, “The Izzone” is one of the best. Named after the head coach of the basketball program, this group of ~4,000 students help to fill out the Breslin Center for game after game. Due to Michigan State becoming a dominant force in the Big Ten as of late, this student section has grown larger over the years and has only reinforced an already tremendous home-court advantage.

With a 141-22 (.865) home record over the last 10 years, it is no secret that the Spartans are deadly at home. This is without a doubt an elite college basketball program and it is represented as such with a powerful crowd for every game.
