8. Marcus Zegarowski, Creighton

Guard | 6-foot-1 | 165 lbs | No. 108 overall

Creighton has some serious holes to fill at guard. For the last couple of years, the Bluejays have had the luxury of trotting out Marcus Foster and Khyri Thomas as a dynamic duo in the backcourt. However, due to graduation and the NBA Draft, respectively, both players are no longer with the program. This is going to be difficult for head coach Greg McDermott to recover from but he does have a few options at his disposal.

Mitchell Ballock, Davion Mintz, and Ty-Shon Alexander (plus transfer Connor Cashaw) are all returning as backcourt players but even this does not provide a whole lot of depth. This is why fringe top-100 recruit Marcus Zegarowski will be so important in his first year on campus. As a player, Zegarowski is a polished point guard prospect who should fit the Creighton system like a glove. A crafty playmaker who can stroke it from beyond the arc, Zegarowski is a pass-first guard that can get a bucket in late-shot clock situations if necessary.

Due to his skill set, it would not surprise me to see Zegarowski carve out a big role in his first year on campus despite a fair amount of competition. Regardless of whether or not he is a starter or key reserve, he should provide valuable minutes as a floor spacer and facilitator on the offensive end.
