Alabama Basketball: 5 reasons why the Tide can go dancing in 2018-19

Reason Three: Depth
As previously stated, Alabama lost only two players from last year’s team but added four freshmen. Kira Lewis will probably be a starter in place of Sexton. Butler will get plenty of minutes. Fleming and Wood will be given a chance to earn a role early. Add in Tevin Mack, a score-first wing who transferred from Texas last year. He will start most games. Riley Norris coming back from injury will be another great addition.
That’s just talent that never saw the floor last year. There’s plenty of returning talent as well. John Petty, Dazon Ingram, Herb Jones, the list goes on. Johnson has eight returning players who started at least one game last year, and there will be at least two new starters as well.
It’s not just having a lot of players. They have the right mixture of players. There’s not one position where the Tide couldn’t survive an injury. We have drivers, shooters, strong defenders, ball handlers, and post players. What more could people ask for?
Most teams have to choose either quantity or quality. It’s the cliche “One dollar is better than four quarters” debate. On this roster, has both quality and quantity. Their starting lineup has five one dollar bills on it, plus a few extra waiting on the bench.
