Cody Riley, UCLA

Riley didn’t get a chance to play last season due to a year-long suspension stemming from the much-publicized shoplifting incident in China, but now that he’s able to return to the court, UCLA is counting on a lot of production from the 6-10, 265-pound big man.

A projected starter in the frontcourt, Riley is a strong, athletic player who excels on the glass and works well from the high post thanks to his passing and ability to hit mid-range jumpers.

Already with NBA-level size, Riley was one of several Bruins who tested NBA Draft waters this summer and eventually opted to return to campus and appears ready to finally put on a Bruins uniform. UCLA has long needed a presence around the basket and Riley looks prepared to give them that.

Of course, UCLA’s frontcourt is loaded thanks to a stellar incoming recruiting class, but expect Riley to be the player who receives most of those minutes.
