What’s Next for Terrance Shannon?

The star guard has just recently enrolled at the famed prep school IMG Academy. The guard makes his way to IMG Academy via the state of Illinois. The prep school has never been short of talent recently producing stars such as Trevon Duval, Silvio De Sousa, and Anfernee Simons. Duval and Simons are now NBA players. Shannon is going to be teaming up with recent North Carolina commit Armando Bacot. Bacot is only going to help the guard improve his game.

Some believe that the guard backed off his commitment to DePaul because of his enrollment at IMG. At IMG Shannon is going to have many eyes on his game. Those eyes are going to be from many of the blue blood programs that may not have seen him play or have yet to offer. At the time of the commitment to DePaul, the guard had offers from Florida State, Louisville, Texas A and M and the other home state school in Illinois. While opening the recruitment Florida State and Illinois, who were the other finalists besides DePaul, are now firmly in the mix. Also, in the mix could be virtually any other program, both power conference and mid-major.

What are programs getting in Shannon?  He is not a top 100 recruit for no reason. He is a taller guard standing at 6’6” and while running with the Mac Irvin Fire of the EYBL was able to already play in front of numerous big-name coaches. The guard is an aggressive scorer and has shown a great ability to get to the rim. While at the rim he can convert in a variety of ways. Aside from getting to the rim, the guard is a good shooter from deep.

Where ever the guard decides to commit he is going to bring a team a dynamic player who can score from all three levels. At this point, Florida State should be considered the favorite for his services.
