9. Lamar Stevens, Penn State

The Penn State Nittany Lions didn’t make the NCAA Tournament last season but they won an NIT Championship in a postseason run of their own. Forward Lamar Stevens was given the NIT MVP award for his efforts during the tournament. Stevens put up 28 points on 11-of-15 (73.3 percent) shooting from the floor in the 82-66 championship game victory over Utah.

On the season, Stevens put up 15.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest through 39 appearances. all starts. After finishing sixth in Big Ten play last season, Stevens returns as the Nittany Lions’ top returning scorer. He shot 46.5 percent from the floor as he put up at least 30 points in two contests and 20 points pre more in at least eight contests.

Stevens put up 604 total points, fourth in the conference, and 232 rebounds, 10th in the conference, during the 2017-18 season. With Tony Carr off to pursue his pro career, all eyes will be on Stevens to be their top scoring option.
