4. James Palmer Jr., Nebraska

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are proud to have James Palmer Jr. back for another season. In his first full season with the team, Palmer paid dividends in the starting rotation. He produced 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 2017-18.

Palmer shot just 30.9 percent from 3-point land but his volume shooting from behind the arc has certainly increased. He began his college career with the Miami Hurricanes before transferring after the 2015-16 season.

Since joining the Big Ten, Palmer made a seamless adjustment to the change of scenery. The 6-foot-5 guard put up a career-high 34 points against Ohio State back on Jan. 22. He went 11-for-18 (61.1 percent) from the field and 5-of-11 (45.5 percent) shooting from 3-point range although the Cornhuskers lost, 64-59. Palmer returns looking to get Nebraska into the NCAA Tournament now, something they haven’t accomplished since the 2013-14 season.
