1. Lindell Wigginton, Iowa State

Big man Cameron Lard wasn’t the only freshman to make an impact in the Iowa State Cyclones rotation last season. Freshman guard Lindell Wigginton was another instant star for the Cyclones in 2017-18 after the numbers he put up.

He produced 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists during his freshman season with Iowa State. Despite having to adjust to the college game, Wigginton shot 40.1 percent from 3-point land and broke the freshman record for 3-point field goals made in a season (69). He led the team in points per game and finished second in assists per game.

After starting in all 31 games he appeared in during the 2017-18, there’s more to be done for Wigginton as he passed up on the NBA. The Cyclones went just 4-14 in Big 12 play last year, something that should change with experience in 2018-19. He’ll have Nick Weiler-Babb to help him along in the backcourt for another season as well.
