6. Desmond Bane, TCU

The TCU Horned Frogs will be a darkhorse candidate to win the Big 12 as the team enters their third season under head coach Jamie Dixon. The Horned Frogs made the NCAA Tournament despite being without guard Jaylen Fisher, who returns from a knee injury. 6-foot-5 guard Desmond Bane is another player to keep an eye on in the backcourt as well.

With two starters gone for the 2018-19 season, Bane will be their top returning scorer from a season ago. He recorded 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for TCU in 2017-18. He led the conference in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 46.1 percent from behind the arc on the season.

There was no sophomore slump for Bane during the 2017-18 season. He’ll look for some carryover into this upcoming season, especially with the return of Fisher in the backcourt. Bane should have a strong junior campaign for the TCU Horned Frogs, as they look to make another NCAA Tournament.
