5. Cameron Lard, Iowa State

6-foot-9 forward Cameron Lard was explosive in his first year with the Iowa State Cyclones during the 2017-18 season. Lard finished third on the team in points per game (12.6) while leading the team in rebounding as well.

He registered 12.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per contest in 29 appearances for the Cyclones last season. His 3.4 offensive rebounds per game led all players in Big 12 play, something he’ll look to continue in 2018-19. Lard started in 16 games by season’s end, while shooting 60.1 percent from the field. He finished fifth in the conference in field goal percentage as a freshman.

After recording eight double-doubles his freshman season, Lard returns looking to wreak more havoc in the Big 12. He poured in 19 points and 17 rebounds (career-high) against Oklahoma back on Feb. 10 in an 88-80 victory. He’s an efficient scorer in the frontcourt with room to grow in other areas.
