Daniel Oturu, Minnesota

Center | 6-foot-10 | 225 lbs | No. 50 overall

A fringe top-50 player in the 2018 recruiting class, Daniel Oturu has the potential to be one of the best players in the Big Ten in due time. He already has plenty of size to play the center position at 6-foot-10 and is oozing with potential thanks to his length and athleticism. Oturu runs the floor extremely well for a big man and has developed into a nice post scoring option as well as an elite-level rebounder.

However, what is so enticing about Oturu is what he could become in the future. He is already blossoming as a mid-range jump shooter and does an excellent job using his size and strength to create space inside as a post scorer and rebounder. Despite the fact that Oturu is recovering from reconstructive surgery on his shoulder, the expectation is that he should compete for the starting center role along with sophomore Eric Curry and senior Matz Stockman.

Once he returns to full health, Oturu has a great chance to play significant minutes right away as a freshman. He is extremely well-balanced as a two-way center and should provide quality rebounding up front for the team. With both Daniel Oturu and the Jordan Murphy (16.8 points, 11.3 rebounds) on the roster for this upcoming season, the Golden Gophers could be one of the better rebounding teams in the country.
