Aaron Wiggins, Maryland

Guard | 6-foot-6 | 180 lbs | No. 42 overall

Maryland basketball received some tough news this offseason with Kevin Huerter‘s decision to stay in the NBA Draft. He was easily one of the top shooters in the Big Ten but also did far more than just spot up on the perimeter, making him hard to replace. Thankfully, though, the Terrapins have one of the best recruiting classes in the country this season, with two players featured in this article.

The first of these, though, is Aaron Wiggins, a 6-foot-6 forward who comes in ranked just inside the top-50 for the 2018 class who looks poised to take over the starting position deserted by Huerter. As a player, Wiggins simply knows how to fill up the basket in a hurry. He has excellent size and length to play on the wing and his playing style fits that of a player who can score in bunches.

Wiggins is one of the best all-around shooters in the 2018 class due to his ability to stretch the floor well beyond the 3-point arc and knock down mid-range jumpers with the best of them. Even though rising junior Anthony Cowan will be expected to lead the Terps in scoring this year, Wiggins might not be that far behind. His versatility at his size makes him extremely dangerous as a scorer and he also possesses more than enough length to be an impactful wing defender.
