Marlon Taylor – Panola College

Guard | 6-foot-6 | 210 lbs | No. 7 overall – JUCO

An outstanding athlete with excellent size and length, Marlon Taylor will be joining LSU after two seasons at Panola College. For the most part, Taylor is quite raw but his physical gifts allow him to potentially play/defend positions 2-through-4 while on the court. He is already an outstanding rebounder and is developing as a 3-point shooter as well. He is the top-rated JUCO transfer for LSU this season and he has serious potential to develop as a star while in Baton Rouge.

During this past season at Panola College, he averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while posting superb shooting slashes of .498/.441/.802. Taking into account this kind of scoring efficiency along with Taylor’s ridiculous athleticism and this is one of the most underrated additions in the country this offseason. Furthermore, his versatility on the court will allow Coach Wade to deploy several different lineups this season.

Regardless of whether or not the coaching staff wants to play small-ball or a big lineup, Taylor has the ability to be on the floor. He can match up with just about anyone in the country due to his athleticism and can be a matchup nightmare for some bigs with his ability to splash from deep at high volume. Taylor has two years of eligibility remaining.
