Darius Days – Gainesville, FL

Forward | 6-foot-7 | 218 lbs | No. 62 overall

After covering the JUCO transfers joining the team this season, now let’s dive into the four incoming freshmen for the LSU Tigers, starting with Darius Days. A lengthy 6-foot-7 forward right out of the heart of Gator Country, Days should be an immediate contributor off the bench for the Tigers this season. Due to the presence of several key returners as well as other top recruits coming in, it will be difficult for Days to reserve a spot in the starting lineup. Regardless, though, his size and talent will yield at least a few minutes per game for the team.

As a player, Days is well-known for his versatility. With his size and athleticism, Days projects as a switchable defender with the ability to potentially guard three different positions. In addition, he is working on his potential as a 3-point shooter to add an entirely new dimension to his offensive game. As of now, Days projects as a power forward at the college level if he adds more strength but he also could see plenty of time at the “3” this season if he continues his overall development as a shooter.

While playing in the Under Armour Association last spring/summer, Days flashed his all-around game while playing in 16 games. Over the course of the sessions, he averaged 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game while posting shooting slashes of .469/.397/.833. Additionally, his consistency as a scorer was impressive as he scored in double-figures in every game except one.
