Why Did Williams Choose Nebraska?

It is rare for a class of 2020 player to commit to a school so early.  If they are committed those players may open their recruitment up again as the big name offers start to roll in. The guard appears to be different and he like most other recruits claims he is a solid commitment to the Huskers. His reasons for committing seem to be legitimate.

Williams has been a top priority for the staff at Nebraska for most of the summer. The lead recruiter Michael Lewis could sense that the guard was going to potentially see the offers pouring in after his summer and high school season. Williams has made no secret that he grew up a Husker and wanted to be one to continue his basketball career. The recruit has been around the Nebraska campus as a fan for quite some time. As a potential recruit, he has taken a fair number of visits to see the facilities that Nebraska has to offer.

Once the guard announced his commitment via his Twitter page, he let Husker Nation know that he was not going to get complacent now that he is committed. He has the motivation to become the best player to ever come out of the state of Nebraska.  He has some big shoes to fill as Erick Strickland, Rich King and Dave Hoppen still exist. The guard also said his job now lies with recruiting some other players with offers to come and play with him. If Williams can convince other players to come to play for this program, the rebuild may be successful. The motivation and the drive are something that the Husker fans should embrace with open arms. People are excited about your basketball program for the first time since the early 90’s.
