Early look at the 2018-19 Arkansas roster

Ten players on the 2018-19 roster have never suited up for Arkansas. The Razorbacks do return two other players who were with the program last season but didn’t play, Jalen Harris is a 6-2 guard who transferred from New Mexico, where he averaged 4.5 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds as a freshman and Khalil Garland is 6-5 redshirt-freshman who sat out due to an undisclosed medical condition. While he has been taking part in non-contact workouts with the team, he has yet to be cleared for anything more and it is unknown if he will be available to Anderson this season.

The inexperience is compounded with the addition of eight incoming freshmen who will battle to be in the Razorbacks’ rotation next season, a rotation that went nine deep in the loss to Butler in the NCAA Tournament.

Much like on the court, the recruiting battles in the SEC are fierce, according to 247Sports Anderson’s eight-man class is the 37th best nationally but just eight in the conference. The class is comprised of five backcourt mates and three forwards. It also includes the top three players in Arkansas, the No. 3 recruit out of Nevada and the top junior college player in Oklahoma.
