Big 12 Basketball: Top 10 recruits joining the conference in 2018-19
2. Talen Horton-Tucker, Iowa State
The Iowa State Cyclones will have a strong rotation returning in 2018-19, led by the likes of Lindell Wigginton and Cameron Lard. Those two are sure to have strong sophomore seasons while small forward Talen Horton-Tucker will be expected have an impact as well.
Horton-Tucker is a native of Chicago, Illinois and alum of the well-known Simeon High School, where the likes of Derrick Rose, Jabari Parker and Bobby Simmons, to name a few. The 6-foot-5 small forward is the No. 13 ranked player at his position and 57th ranked player in the nation.
While at Simeon this past season, he produced 20.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. He’s a guy that plays with a chip on his shoulder and attacks the rim with reckless abandon. After going 4-14 in the Big 12, Iowa State will be glad to have him alongside their sophomore duo of Wigginton and Lard. Consider Horton-Tucker an early favorite for Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
