3. Gerald Liddell, Texas

Despite going 19-15 in 2017-18, the Texas Longhorns managed to make an NCAA Tournament appearance, their second appearance in three seasons under Smart. Mo Bamba was their big name star last season. Next season, all eyes will be on top recruit Gerald Liddell to perform.

Liddell is a 6-foot-6 small forward and a native of the state of Texas. He ranks 49th nationally and second in the state right behind fellow teammate and incoming freshman point guard Courtney Ramey. He’ll need to add some bulk to his 180-pound frame but it shouldn’t stop him from contributing in 2018-19.

Liddell is a versatile wing who can do more than score the basketball. He averaged 16.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game in his final year of high school basketball, leading his team to a 32-3 record. He’ll look to contribute in Year 1 this upcoming season as one of top prospects in the country.
