2. Have the best returning player in the conference

Luke Maye is the best returning player in the ACC this year and he was ranked by the NCAA’s official site to be the second best-returning player in the league.

Maye will look to have a season where he could possibly win the Karl Malone award and another National Championship if everything goes right for him.

Last year he was seventh in the ACC in points per game with 16.9 and fourth in the ACC in total points with 625. That was all while being the second best player on the team last year.

This year Maye will be the best player on the team and the best returning player in the conference. He was part of the National title team in 2016 and he will have another chance to win one while playing to get good positioning in the draft.

During that title season he was not the focal point as that was up to Berry and Jackson but this year the team will be his. He will have more to do with it if the Tar Heels win the ACC tournament and the National title.

This looks to be a big year for Maye and with Carolina looking better on paper against Virginia, who won the ACC championship game last year against them and having more experience than Duke they will look to have a big season this year.
