The Badgers return a better roster for 2018-19

Both teams return two double-digit scorers but the Badgers more of their top contributors from last season. Wisconsin returns their top six scorers that played in at least 28 games and two other key players returning from injury.

Senior star Ethan Happ returned for his senior season and breakout freshman Brad Davison also returns for his sophomore campaign. The forward-guard combo led the Badgers with 30 points, 10.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.7 steals all while shooting 46.6% from the field and 68% from the free throw line.

Having key contributors D’Mitrick Trice and Kobe King, who combined for 14.6 points per game in the 10 games they played before being injured, go down early allowed the likes of guards Brevin Pritzl and Khalil Iverson and forwards Aleem Ford and Nate Reuvers to play increased minutes. The quartet poured in 28 points and 13.7 rebounds per game.

Marquette, on the other hand, returns prolific scorers Markus Howard and Sam Hauser and their 34.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists but the Golden Eagles return just 24.5 points per game from their next five top returning scorers.
