How the Wildcats will perform for 2018-19

This Kentucky team should do well this year. With three five-star players returning along with four five-star players that were recruited this team will look to do damage in the SEC and beyond this season.

While there is always a need to have highly talented freshmen on your team, having players with experience is what makes your team go far in the postseason in college basketball.

Winning the SEC tournament will be easy for them again because of their talent and the lack of opponents in the conference but the NCAA tournament will be where this team is judged. You can look at the two Villanova teams and the North Carolina team that won the National Championship the past three years.

The last successful Kentucky team that went to the National Semifinal had talented sophomore players that stayed a year. Players like Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison and Dakari Johnson helped solidify a roster that was loaded with freshman talent.

This team will go far and probably be just like the National Semifinal team. The season before that one they lost the Championship game to the Shabazz Napier led UConn Huskies. They were two years removed from winning the National title.

The talent of Anthony Davis is a once in a lifetime talent. A freshman-heavy team led by him was good enough to lead Kentucky to a National title. They will have to use their returning players more this upcoming season.
