Florida State Seminoles

A team who tends to use a bunch of big men in a given game, Martin wouldn’t have too much trouble finding minutes – especially once rising seniors Phil Cofer and Christ Koumadje graduate. Sophomore Mfiondu Kabengele is an under the radar NBA Draft candidate so the need for another big could become urgent in a hurry.

The Seminoles already have Zimife Nwokjl, a 6’7 forward who plays more at the three-spot than the traditional power forward committed for the 2019 class and could use some more depth just in case. Martin would be a nice piece for the future or even immediately if needed.

Memphis Tigers

New head coach Penny Hardaway and the Tigers will need new forwards, once starters Kyvon Davenport and Mike Parks Jr. graduate. Even with the seven recruits coming to the program, only one of them (Junior College transfer center Isaiah Maurice) is considered a frontcourt player. That would normally mean that Martin would instantly get minutes as a freshman when he arrives the following season.

It’s likely not to be the case, with the 2019 recruiting class shaping up to be a historically good one. Four-star center Malcolm Dandridge has already committed and there’s a legit possibility that five-star forwards DJ Jeffries and James Wiseman will come to Memphis. And that could be just the starting point of multiple recruiting classes for the program that could leave Martin on the bench. He should be careful considering what Memphis is bringing in, as those players are simply on a different talent level.
