1. Joey Hauser, Marquette

Joey Hauser took an unprecedented route to land with the Marquette Golden Eagles. Hauser enrolled early at Marquette following ankle surgery that caused him to miss most of his senior season. As a junior, he produced 23.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest en route to his team’s third straight state title. Due to his surgery, things changed in a hurry for Hauser, but he adjusted, enrolling early with the Golden Eagles. Now he’s due to make his college basketball debut this fall.

Hauser has drawn early comparisons to Henry Ellenson, the Golden Eagles’ last lottery pick in the NBA Draft. Ellenson spent one season at Marquette back in 2015-15 before being taken 18th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft. In his lone season with the Golden Eagles, he put up 17.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest before making the leap to the league.

Hauser possesses a greater skillset in his ability to get others involved as well as stretch the floor. The 6-foot-8 forward will join his older brother, Sam, next season looking to take advantage of an early college basketball career.
