Season outlook for 2018-19

The Big East is wide open after Villanova, and Creighton has enough talent to compete with any of them. However, there are some major questions they have to answer.

Will their young players step up and play up to their potential? Can they get reliable point guard play? Who will be their go-to scorer? Will their defense improve?

These are all normal questions that come with a team in transition that has to find a new identity, and Creighton will likely deal with some growing pains as they try to find their way. Still, the opportunities are there for some quality non-conference wins and, with the conference setting up the way it is, the Bluejays could still find themselves right in the neighborhood of last season’s 21 wins.

I think they’ll finish in the top half of the conference and find themselves on the NCAA Tournament bubble – the side of that bubble they’ll fall on will depend on who they’re able to beat in Big East play.
