9. Drexel Dragons

2017-18 season record: 13-20 (6-12 CAA)

Drexel went into last season with bleak expectations and managed to consistently meet them along the way. Expectations are not going to be much higher this season.

Tramaine Isabell is far and away the team’s biggest loss. He took home three CAA Player of the Week awards on his way to averaging 21 points per game for the season. The grad transfer decided to finish his career at Saint Louis, though.

Drexel does return guard Kurk Lee Jr. for his junior season, though. He arguably took a step back after a very impressive freshman campaign, averaging just 12.4 points per game last year. Still, he was expected to be one of the league’s elite players last year and could still develop into such this year.

Forward Jarvis Doles will be expected to take a step forward in 2018-19. He didn’t play much during conference play, but the big man has a sweet shooting stroke and should develop into an asset for the Dragons.

There aren’t any obvious areas where improvement can be anticipated, though.

Coach Zack Spiker hasn’t had a winning season in his two years at Drexel. He only had two winning seasons at Army, his previous outpost before coming over to the CAA.

He deserves more time, but the clock is ticking on his tenure with the Dragons.
